A tragic accident claimed the lives of 67 people Wednesday night when an American Airlines jet collided with a U.S. Army helicopter over the Potomac River. Among the victims were U.S. and Russian figure skaters returning from the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Wichita. Coach Alexandr “Sasha” Kirsanov perished alongside his students, Angela Yang and Sean Kay. “My husband’s body has yet to be recovered,” said his wife, Natalia Gudin. By Thursday, search teams had begun recovering bodies from the icy waters as the skating world mourned the devastating loss.
