Former President Donald Trump, just weeks into office, has reversed multiple Biden-era policies, including revoking Joe Biden’s security clearance.
Trump also pledged to overturn the Biden administration’s plan to phase out single-use plastics. The initiative, announced last summer, aimed to eliminate plastic straws, bottles, and cutlery from federal use by 2035. Trump dismissed it as “ridiculous” and declared on Truth Social, “BACK TO PLASTIC!” He criticized paper straws, calling them ineffective.
This isn’t new for Trump—he mocked paper straws in 2020, claiming they “disintegrate as you drink.” His stance reflects a broader departure from environmental policies.
Early in his presidency, he promoted oil and gas drilling in Alaska and withdrew the U.S. from the Paris Climate Agreement, reinforcing his shift away from Biden’s climate agenda.
