People eat and drink unhealthy things all the time. Some people are aware of the consequences, while others are not. Some know the consequences of these foods but just don’t give a damn. This article isn’t about food, though. It’s about a common drink that millions consume daily.
Roughly 25% of all drinks sold in America are soft drinks. Even though soda sales have dropped, one-third of Americans still drink sugary beverages. Targeted at 18-24-year-olds, it sets them up for health problems. “Drinking soda can increase a person’s risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease.”
1. **Soft Drinks = Soft Bones**
Soda weakens bones, increasing the risk of osteoporosis. “Regulate your soda intake immediately,” or risk joint pain and brittle bones.
2. **Weight Gain & Diabetes**
Soda adds “extra pounds” and may cause hormonal imbalances. With obesity on the rise, “one in three Americans could have Type 2 diabetes by 2050.”
3. **Organ Damage**
“Soda damages your liver,” leading to risks like cirrhosis. It also harms kidneys, causing stones and disease.
4. **Tooth Decay & Digestion Issues**
Sugary drinks erode enamel and disturb digestion, causing heartburn and acid reflux.
5. **Heart Disease & Hypertension**
Soda raises blood pressure and increases heart attack risk. “Try it out yourself” and cut soda for better health!
