European countries issue new travel warning for people traveling to the US

Several European countries have issued updated travel warnings for citizens heading to the US, citing stricter immigration rules introduced under Donald Trump’s administration. The UK now advises travelers to “comply with all entry, visa and other conditions of entry.” The Foreign Office warns: “You may be liable to arrest or detention if you break the rules.”

Germany has also revised its guidelines after three citizens were denied entry and detained. Officials stressed that “neither a valid ESTA authorization nor a valid U.S. visa constitutes a right to entry into the USA.” Travelers are urged to bring proof of return travel, but there is “no legal recourse against” an entry denial.
The Trump administration has compiled a list of 43 countries facing possible travel restrictions. An unnamed US official confirmed the list isn’t finalized but includes various levels of bans.

Twelve nations, including Iran, North Korea, and Syria, face an “all travel banned” designation, which would suspend visas entirely.
Another group of countries, such as Russia and Pakistan, face severe visa restrictions. A third category—Angola, Cameroon, and others—has 60 days to address US concerns or risk partial suspensions of visa issuance.
