A true warrior – Fox’ Janice Dean shares emotional message after health update with ‘unseen’ battle

Janice Dean, FOX News’s weather anchor, has been open about her struggle with multiple sclerosis since her diagnosis in 2005. Speaking on World MS Day, she addressed fellow patients, calling them “fighters” and offering words of encouragement. She described MS as an “invisible illness” that outsiders often misunderstand. “It’s the ‘My, you look so well’ disease,” she explained, noting that despite appearing fine, the disease relentlessly attacks the brain, spine, and body.

Dean revealed she was actively experiencing symptoms that day, making her message even more personal. She described a persistent sunburn-like sensation on her neck: “On the outside, we may appear fine—I’ve had my hair and makeup done, I’m grinning on Fox & Friends—but on the inside, it can be really difficult.”

Despite the challenges, she expressed gratitude and solidarity with others battling MS. “Putting on a happy face can be difficult at times, but we must,” she said, acknowledging the daily struggles of millions affected worldwide. Multiple sclerosis, which affects over 2.8 million people, is a serious, potentially disabling condition targeting the central nervous system.
