Travis Decker is wanted for allegedly murdering his three young daughters — Paityn, 9; Evelyn, 8; and Olivia, 5. The girls were reported missing on May 30 when their father failed to return them after a scheduled visit. “He was late returning the girls and had not communicated… which was out of the ordinary,” Capt. Brian Chance told NBC4.
On June 2, Decker’s truck was found abandoned near Rock Island Campground in Washington. About 100 yards away, deputies discovered the girls’ bodies hidden down an embankment. Court documents revealed plastic bags over their heads and signs they’d been zip-tied. Investigators found zip ties, plastic bags, food, car seats, and Decker’s wallet inside the vehicle. “Preliminary investigations indicate the girls most likely died from asphyxiation,” Fox 13 reported.
Surveillance footage shows Decker days earlier on a Ring camera acting strangely at a stranger’s door. Authorities say this was the last confirmed sighting. He is described as 5’8”, 190 lbs., with black hair, brown eyes, tattoos, and sometimes wears a ponytail. Police warn: “He should be considered dangerous and should not be contacted or approached.”Decker, 32, is a former Army soldier with elite training and survival skills. Sheriff Mike Morrison said Decker “has the ability and knowledge to survive for long periods of time” off-grid. He had been living in his truck and was in the process of being discharged from the National Guard.
A GoFundMe for the girls’ mother has raised over \$788,000. Authorities continue searching across Chelan County.
