Nearly 19 years after Steve Irwin’s tragic death, his legacy as a beloved wildlife conservationist still lives on. Known for his passion and energy, Steve introduced millions to the animal world. In 2006, while filming at the Great Barrier Reef, he was fatally struck in the chest by a stingray. His final words, recalled by cameraman Justin Lyon, were: “I’m dying.”
His wife, Terri, and their children, Bindi and Robert, continue his work in wildlife conservation. Bindi often shares emotional memories online, and both children have followed in his footsteps.
Steve and Terri met in 1991 and married shortly after, a bond he described as “love at first sight.” Despite being widowed for nearly two decades, Terri remains single. In a 2025 *Stellar Magazine* interview, she said, “I found my happily ever after… I still have a lot of love in my life.”
Though once linked to Russell Crowe, Terri clarified, “He’s a dear friend.” She added, “I’m lonely for Steve, but I’m not lonely,” and reminded others, “Women can be fulfilled whether they marry or not.”
