At least 13 people have died and over 20 campers are still missing after catastrophic flooding struck Kerr County, Texas, on Friday. Floodwaters swept through roads, campsites, and homes across Central Texas, turning a quiet area into a disaster zone.
“There’s still several people unaccounted for right now,” said Kerr County Sheriff Larry L. Leitha. “We’re working really hard… This is probably going to be a couple of day process.”
Rescue teams have been working nonstop, using boats, helicopters, and drones to find the missing. Families are anxiously waiting for news about loved ones who were camping when the floods hit.
Authorities say the search efforts could take days as water levels remain high and access to many areas is still limited.
