Doctors W.arn: This Common Way of Eating Boiled Eggs Can Clog Your Arteries

Boiled eggs are nutritious, but eating them the wrong way can raise serious heart risks. Professor David Spence warns that egg yolks contain phosphatidylcholine, which promotes artery hardening. “Just 10g of eggs daily — about 1/6 of an egg — can increase coronary artery disease risk by 54%,” according to studies in *BMJ*.

One case involved a 30-year-old man in China who ate boiled eggs daily and ended up with dangerously high cholesterol and a mild stroke. This highlights that even clean eating doesn’t prevent egg-related risks.

**Who Should Be Careful?**
People with heart issues, high cholesterol, hypertension, or diabetes should limit eggs:

* **Heart patients**: Max 1 egg per week
* **Lipid disorders**: 1 per day, steamed or boiled
* **Severe heart conditions**: 2–3 per week, not fried

**Expert Tip**: Eat only egg whites — high in protein, low in cholesterol. Other great protein sources: skinless chicken, lentils, soy, or tofu.

**Eggs in Balance**
Don’t rely on diet alone — cut red meat, avoid trans fats, eat fiber-rich foods, and stay active.

Healthy people can enjoy 3–7 eggs per week. “It’s not about avoiding eggs, but eating them wisely.”
