Man Who Beat His 2-Day-Old Baby To Death Faces Brutal Reckoning After Cellmate Discovers His Secret

Liam Deane, who was serving a life sentence for killing his newborn daughter Luna, was found dead in his prison cell a month after his incarceration. Deane had admitted to punching and shaking Luna, who was only 2 days old, because she wouldn’t stop crying, resulting in her tragic death. The prosecutor stated in court that Deane took responsibility for his actions, explaining, “Luna had not settled down, and he lost control.” His defense lawyer expressed that this behavior was entirely out of character for Deane. Luna’s mother’s statement described the anguish of seeing her on life support.

Deane’s death in prison was allegedly caused by fellow inmate John Westland. Some readers expressed satisfaction that Deane received retribution for his heinous crime, while others criticized the relatively short 10-year sentence he initially received, believing it to be inadequate for the severity of his actions.
