Jim-Bob from ‘The Waltons,’ now 61, went from TV star to quiet delivery truck driver.

David W. Harper, known for his role as Jim-Bob Walton, had a less public life after “The Waltons” ended. Born in 1961, he began his acting career in 1971 and played Jim-Bob as a young man interested in various hobbies and topics. He remained with the show for about a decade.

After “The Waltons,” he pursued his education, focusing on business. Harper largely stayed out of the spotlight, much like his TV brother Eric Scott. Interestingly, they both worked together later in a parcel delivery service called Chase Messengers, where Harper worked as a driver.

Harper prefers a private life and enjoys meeting fans occasionally. He cared for his father, Paul, until his passing in 2010. Harper finds contentment in music, puzzles, and his faith, praising God daily. He is occasionally mistaken for a Los Angeles art dealer with the same name.

At 61 years old, Harper is reportedly working on a memoir about his experiences on “The Waltons,” following in the footsteps of Mary McDonough, who played Erin Walton. Fans of “The Waltons” can look forward to this enlightening book.
