A Woman Shares 3 Symptoms That She Disregarded Before To Receiving A Stage 4 Cancer Diagnosis At The Age Of 28

At just 28, London-based content creator Georgie Swallow was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin lymphoma. Before her diagnosis, she ignored several symptoms for over a year and a half, assuming she was just tired or stressed. “Even then I wasn’t too worried,” she said after finding a peach-sized lump in her neck, adding she feared she was “wasting everyone’s time” by visiting the doctor.

Georgie now shares the three main symptoms she overlooked: **itchy legs, night sweats, and constant fatigue**. “I would itch until I broke the skin… no cream or lifestyle change would make it go,” she explained. Along with these, she suffered weight loss and frequent colds.

She stressed how easily lymphoma symptoms can be dismissed, saying, “You can brush the symptoms off as other things.”

Treatment led to early menopause, which Georgie said felt like being “hit by a bus.” She struggled with the loss of fertility and the isolation of facing menopause at 28. “None of my friends understood what I was going through.”

Now 32, Georgie works to raise awareness about cancer signs and the emotional toll of early menopause.
