Grace Springer, the woman who filmed the viral Coldplay concert moment, confirmed she hasn’t earned anything from the video: “I’ve actually made no money… It’s not monetised.” The clip, showing CEO Andy Byron and HR head Kristin Cabot swaying together at Gillette Stadium, sparked scandal due to Byron being married. Chris Martin joked on stage, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
Springer said she filmed it hoping to be on the big screen herself, but the footage quickly went viral. “There were over 50,000 people… everyone was chattering.” After reviewing it with friends, she agreed: “It really looks that bad.”
The video has over 125 million views, but Springer said she doesn’t regret posting it. “If it wasn’t me, someone else would have.” She added, “I would want to be told… I don’t have much respect for cheaters.”
As a result of the footage, Astronomer launched an investigation. Byron resigned days later. The company stated, “Our leaders are expected to set the standard… that standard was not met.” Co-founder Pete DeJoy was named interim CEO.
