Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76, his family announced on July 22, saying he passed “surrounded by love.” Diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2019, Ozzy had been struggling with additional health issues in recent years.
Before his death, his wife Sharon honored his final wish—to return to his UK hometown for one last show. She organized the *Back to the Beginning* benefit concert in Aston, where Ozzy reunited with Black Sabbath and helped raise \$189 million for charity. “It became a celebration of the music,” Sharon said.
Bands like Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, and Anthrax also performed. Sharon added, “Ozzy was very emotional… very happy to be coming back.” Though Parkinson’s affected his legs, “his voice is as good as it’s ever been.”
Ozzy told the crowd, “You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
He is survived by his wife Sharon, children Aimee, Kelly, Jack, Jessica, Louis, and several grandchildren. Aston Villa Football Club, where Ozzy grew up nearby, paid tribute, calling him a “world-renowned rockstar and Villan,” adding, “The thoughts of everyone… are with his family and fans.”
