Karoline Leavitt made history Tuesday as the youngest-ever White House press secretary at age 27. A New Hampshire native, she rose to national attention as a standout spokesperson for Trump’s 2024 campaign. “As you have seen over the past week, President Trump is hard at work fulfilling the promises that he made to the American people,” Leavitt said during her first formal briefing.
She is also the sixth working mother to hold the role, following press secretaries like Karine Jean-Pierre, Jen Psaki, and Kayleigh McEnany. Reflecting on motherhood and work, Leavitt admitted, “It does break your heart to leave the baby every day… Emotionally, physically, and spiritually, it’s really difficult.”
Leavitt is married to Nicholas Riccio, a wealthy real estate developer and owner of Riccio Enterprises LLC. Despite a 32-year age gap, the couple keeps their private life out of the spotlight.
Former President Trump praised her as “smart, tough,” and “a highly effective communicator,” expressing full confidence in her ability to carry his message: “She will be a great speaker and contribute to our message to the American people.”
