Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social, demanding the prosecution of Kamala Harris over alleged illegal campaign payments. He claimed her 2024 campaign paid celebrities for endorsements, which he says violates campaign finance laws.
“These ridiculous fees were incorrectly stated,” Trump posted. “YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PAY FOR AN ENDORSEMENT. IT IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL TO DO SO.”
Trump accused Harris of paying Beyoncé \$11 million, Oprah Winfrey \$3 million, and Rev. Al Sharpton \$600,000—figures not backed by public records. He also said Beyoncé “never sang, not one note,” and was “booed off stage.”
According to *Deadline*, actual campaign records show Beyoncé’s company received \$165,000 for a rally, while Oprah’s Harpo Productions got \$1 million for a livestream, and Sharpton’s group received \$500,000. Harris’ team has denied these were payments for endorsements, and Oprah has said she “was not paid a dime.”
Despite repeatedly raising these claims since 2023, Trump’s accusations remain unproven. Harris has not publicly responded.
The Harris campaign raised \$1.15 billion domestically, with \$843 million from outside sources, while Trump’s campaign raised less, at \$464 million and \$989 million from outside donors.
