Five years after losing her son Robert, Clara still protects the college fund saved for his dream of becoming an astrophysicist. Built with love and sacrifice before he was born, the fund remains untouched — a symbol of his memory. Clara and her husband Martin have faced years of heartbreak and infertility, quietly carrying their grief.
During Martin’s birthday dinner, his sister Amber shocks everyone by demanding the fund for her son Steven, arguing it’s being wasted. “Clara’s not having kids — what’s the point?” she says. Clara and Martin are stunned, but it’s Jay, Martin’s father, who steps in. He reveals Amber had already spent Steven’s own fund on a Disney trip and criticizes her for enabling Steven’s poor grades.
Jay defends Clara: “That fund wasn’t built for convenience. It was built out of love.” Clara finally speaks, saying the fund carries every memory of Robert. Giving it away would feel like losing him again.
Amber storms out and later accuses Clara of being selfish. Clara doesn’t respond. “Real love,” she believes, “can’t be demanded or bought.”
That night, Clara and Martin sit in Robert’s room beside his telescope. In silence, they remember — choosing to protect the dreams that still live on.
