Kevin Bacon stunned when DNA test revealed he and wife Kyra Sedgwick were cousins – it was ‘unsettling’

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, a Hollywood power couple married for over 30 years, initially crossed paths when Kyra was only 12, and they reconnected a decade later on a movie set. Despite Kevin not being Kyra’s initial type, they tied the knot in 1988 and welcomed two children, Travis and Sosie, both of whom pursued careers in entertainment.

In 2008, they faced a significant financial loss due to Bernie Madoff’s infamous Ponzi scheme. However, they focused on their family and the essential things in life, emphasizing their resilience.

A DNA test on the TV show “Finding Your Roots” revealed an unexpected twist—they are ninth cousins, once removed. Although Kevin found this revelation unsettling, they accepted it, relieved they weren’t first cousins.

During the quarantine, they spent quality time together, with Kyra working on her writing and Kevin ensuring she felt cherished.

They underline the importance of emotional and physical intimacy in their relationship. While cautioning against seeking marital advice from celebrities, their enduring love story and unwavering moral values continue to inspire, making them one of Hollywood’s most beloved and resilient couples.
