Yanin Rocío Campos Ruiz, a former “MasterChef México” contestant and nurse, tragically died after a car accident in Chihuahua. She passed away on August 4, 2025, aged 38, after being hospitalized for days following the crash on August 2.
The accident happened early morning when her black GMC Terrain collided with a parked Ford Econoline. Authorities are investigating causes, considering speeding or distracted driving.
Yanin was well-loved for her cooking skills and TV presence. She competed in “MasterChef México” in 2018, finishing sixth, and returned for the 2019 “MasterChef: La Revancha.” She also hosted a local show and was active on social media.
Television producer Iker Emerson Navarrete expressed his sadness: “Vuela muy, muy alto @yanin\_chefmx,” showing respect for her.
Her brother, Raúl Campos, posted on Facebook: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my sister, Yanin Campos.” Many responded with condolences, remembering her as “a genuine person,” “full of plans,” and “driven to get ahead.”
