A tragic accident in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, left two 12-year-old girls critically injured on June 14, 2025. Abby Gillon later died from a traumatic brain injury on June 16, while her friend, Bella Jones, faces a long recovery. “After fighting hard… Abigail passed away,” a family friend shared on behalf of Abby’s mother, Lori Kralle.
Kralle described the pain of losing her only daughter: “We feel broken. She was my best friend, my only daughter.” In Abby’s memory, the family is working with a state legislator to introduce “Abby’s Law,” which would cap e-scooter speeds at 20 mph, require helmets for riders under 18, and set age restrictions.
Abby’s uncle echoed the call for safety, writing, “Scooters are dangerous and it’s getting out of control… These do not belong on the streets!” Despite some resistance, the family remains determined to prevent future tragedies.
A GoFundMe launched by family friend Stephanie Jensen has raised more than $89,000 to cover funeral expenses. Another fundraiser for Bella has collected over $67,000 as she recovers from multiple fractures, surgeries, and head injuries.
While Abby’s loved ones grieve, her memory continues through tributes, fundraising efforts, and the push for change.
