Liam Neeson and Natasha Richardson’s love story began on Broadway in 1993 while performing in Anna Christie. Their chemistry was instant, though Richardson was married at the time. After her marriage ended, she and Neeson wed in 1994 and later welcomed two sons, Micheál and Daniel.
Richardson once laughed at Neeson’s charm, telling Country Living: “I’m glad that women fall in love with him because I know why.” Their marriage grew stronger with parenthood, as they embraced raising their boys together.
In 2009, tragedy struck when Richardson suffered a skiing accident. Initially thinking it minor, her condition quickly worsened. Declared brain dead, Neeson made the heartbreaking decision to remove life support, honoring a promise they had shared.
Their eldest son, Micheál, pursued acting and later changed his surname to Richardson. “It was mostly a tribute to my mother and a way to carry her with me,” he told The Times.
Micheál has since built his own career, even appearing alongside Neeson in Cold Pursuit and Made in Italy.
