Five months into her pregnancy, Shantel Carrillo shared an ultrasound photo of her baby online. While many congratulated her, some pointed out something unusual: “it looks like a person is kissing the baby on the photo.”
When Carrillo looked closer, she was stunned. The figure resembled her late father, who passed away in 2016. “It was honestly like a punch in the chest, like, how awesome it was to see that,” she said. She compared it to an old photo of her dad holding her first daughter, and the similarity was striking.
“It has his nose, his little chubby cheeks, his little double chin, and my dad wore a hat like all the time. It looks like the bill of his hat and his lips are just touching hers so perfectly,” Carrillo explained.
For her, the image is more than coincidence. “I can’t really think of it as any other way… Makes me feel like he is watching over my new daughter. It’s just a beautiful thing.”
The ultrasound has become a comforting reminder that her father’s presence still lingers, now watching over her growing family.
