A 5-year-old carried his 2-year-old sister out of a burning home, ran back inside to saved the rest of the family

A 5-year-old boy named Noah Woods is being hailed as a hero for his quick thinking during a house fire. The fire, caused by an electrical short circuit, broke out in the room where Noah was sleeping with his 2-year-old sister Lily. Noah’s actions were simple but heroic. He grabbed Lily, took their dog, and escaped through a window to safety.

But Noah didn’t stop there. He bravely re-entered the burning house to wake up his uncle, who helped the rest of the family evacuate. All nine family members made it out safely, with only minor injuries. Noah suffered a minor burn on his arm.

The Barlow County Fire Department praised Noah, stating, “Our hero! 5-year-old Noah Woods woke up to find that his bedroom was on fire. He rescued himself and his 2-year-old sister and then went inside to extract the rest of the family.”

Noah’s grandfather, David Woods, expressed gratitude for his grandson’s actions, saying, “If not Noah, we might not be here today.” The family’s home was completely destroyed, but they are thankful to be safe and together. Noah will receive a recognition and life-saving award for his courageous actions.
