The wife of Charlie Kirk shared a post on X just hours before his assassination, making her words feel chilling in hindsight. She wrote: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Kirk, the 31-year-old co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot while speaking at a Utah university event. The fatal shot came from the top of the Losee Center, about 200 feet away. He was rushed to the hospital but died of his injuries.
President Trump blamed the “radical left,” saying political violence is being fueled by “the organizations that fund it and support it.” He later ordered U.S. flags flown at half-mast nationwide until Sunday evening.
So far, no arrests have been made. FBI special agent Robert Bohls stated: “We have full resources devoted to this investigation, including tactical, operational, investigative and intelligence.” Authorities briefly detained two individuals, but both were released.
Kirk leaves behind his wife Erika Frantzve and their two young children. The couple married in May 2021, celebrating their fourth anniversary earlier this year. Erika, a businesswoman and former Miss Arizona USA, has focused her career on faith, leadership, and philanthropy.
