A man was arrested after vandalizing Charlie Kirk’s memorial outside Turning Point USA’s headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.
Fox News reported that “cameras captured the suspect walking through the tribute site, knocking over flowers, American flags, and glass vases left by mourners.” A man in a blue polo shirt intervened, restraining the suspect on the ground until police arrived.
Phoenix police identified the alleged vandal as Ryder Corral. He was wearing “a black shirt featuring an American flag and eagle—similar to the shirts reportedly worn by Tyler Robinson,” the 22-year-old accused of assassinating Kirk during a Utah Valley University event last week.
Corral was taken to Maricopa County Jail and now faces charges of criminal damage and disorderly conduct, Phoenix Police Sgt. Philip Krynsky confirmed.
The act has heightened emotions surrounding Kirk’s assassination, which has sparked national debate. Mourners continue to visit and expand the memorial, though officials have not revealed Corral’s motive. The investigation is ongoing.
