Liberal CNN analyst Van Jones shares ‘shocking’ message Charlie Kirk sent to him — a day before assassination — calling for a ‘respectful dialogue’

Liberal CNN analyst Van Jones revealed he was “shocked” by a message he received from conservative activist Charlie Kirk just a day before Kirk was assassinated at a college tour event in Utah.

Kirk had reached out with an invitation for dialogue, writing: “Hey Van, I mean it, I’d love to have you on my show to have a respectful conversation about crime and race.” He added, “I would be a gentleman as I know you would be as well. We can disagree about the issues agreeably.”

Jones explained the two had been “beefing hard” in the week before Kirk’s death, making the message especially surprising. “Charlie Kirk and I were not friends. At all,” Jones emphasized, noting that the outreach “shocked me.”

The exchange revealed a rare attempt at reconciliation between two outspoken figures on opposite sides of the political spectrum.
