After the tragic death of her husband, conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, Erika Kirk responded to criticism about how she’s been grieving. Charlie was shot and killed on September 10 during a Turning Point USA event. Since then, Erika has taken over as CEO of Turning Point USA and continues to honor his memory online.
Some online users criticized her for focusing on work or posting tributes, but Erika reminded them that “grief is not linear.” She explained she often moves between deep sadness and “bittersweet joy,” adding that love doesn’t require healing but remembrance.
Marking one month since Charlie’s death, Erika wrote, “I carry my Charlie in every breath, in every ache, and in every quiet act of day-to-day living.” She said loss only deepened her love for him.
Erika also shared one of Charlie’s handwritten love notes, explaining he wrote her one every Saturday — a tradition she revealed to encourage others to “show love while you can.”
Through her words and actions, Erika made it clear that honoring her husband’s memory is her personal way of healing.
