A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck near Julian, California, late Monday night, shaking San Diego and reaching Los Angeles, about 120 miles away. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department confirmed there were “no reported injuries or damage.”
Many across Southern California felt the tremor, which briefly rattled homes and businesses.
In a rare occurrence, “some residents received an early warning alert roughly five seconds before the quake hit,” giving them a short moment to prepare.
Authorities said they’re continuing to monitor the region for possible aftershocks following the late-night quake.
