Democrats Arrested In Alleged Texas Ballot Harvesting Scheme

A former Texas Democratic Party official has been indicted in a major vote-harvesting case. Juan Manuel Medina, the former Bexar County Democratic Party Chair and a past San Antonio mayoral candidate, faces two counts of vote harvesting, according to Newsmax.

Authorities say the charges stem from a statewide investigation led by Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton. Prosecutors allege that Medina worked “on behalf of Democrat Cecilia Castellano,” who unsuccessfully ran for the Texas House District 80 seat in 2024 against Republican Don McLaughlin.

Court documents claim Medina offered “compensation or other benefit” to Rachel Leal and former Dilley council member Inelda Rodriguez in exchange for “vote-harvesting services.”

Castellano, Leal, and Rodriguez were also indicted in connection with the case. Medina has denied wrongdoing, while supporters insist that “Cecilia is innocent. She didn’t do anything illegal.”

The investigation continues as Texas officials crack down on alleged election fraud and voter manipulation statewide.
