In 2010, April Webster and Nathan Fishbourne from Caerphilly, South Wales, became the UK’s youngest parents when their son, Jamie, was born. Both were just 14. “We found out I was pregnant when I was 13,” April recalled, as their story quickly made national headlines and sparked debate about teenage parenting.
Their relationship began at St. Cenydd School. April’s parents were shocked and embarrassed by the news, while Nathan’s family promised to “stand by him and the baby.” Jamie was born via cesarean section in November 2010 and underwent surgery for a malformed oesophagus but soon recovered.
April’s family supported her as she adapted to motherhood, while Nathan remained involved though they later discussed shared custody. By 2014, the couple had separated. April, who left school to raise Jamie, said she had “no regrets” and intended to return to education.
Today, April—now April Lianna—is a mother of three: Jamie, Ava Lianne, and Rowan David, and lives happily with her partner Jake Jones. Her social media shows “a stable and loving home life.”
Nathan has also moved on, becoming engaged to Samantha in 2023 and raising a family of his own. Despite their early struggles, both built positive, fulfilling lives.
