Dolly Parton, 77, recently said she is “unlikely to go on any extensive tours in the future.” She explained that while she still plans to perform live at “special events or festivals over the weekend,” long absences from home and her spouse no longer make sense. She added that such trips “would be terrible for her if someone at home needed her” and “unfair to fans who rely on witnessing the entire event.”
Instead, Parton wants to stay close to friends and family while continuing to make music and entertain in other ways. She has stayed busy, releasing her album Run, Rose, Run, co-writing its novel, producing movies, and even developing a line of dog toys.
The success of her book led to a film contract in which Parton will star. She has already planned her next project: a rock album. Parton said her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inspired this new musical venture.
The upcoming film focuses on Annie Lee, a teenage musician overcoming a rough past, guided by Ruthanna, who takes her under her wing.
Fans are excited to see Parton’s continued creativity, with the new rock album promising to showcase her “distinct style and versatility” and add fresh tones to the music world.
