Actor Harris Yulin has died at 87 from cardiac arrest in New York City. Known for his fiery role in Ghostbusters II, Yulin built a long and celebrated career with standout performances in Scarface, Training Day, Frasier, and Ozark.

Beyond film and television, Yulin was a respected stage actor and Juilliard teacher, admired for his deep artistic insight and dedication to the craft.

Director Michael Hoffman described him as “one of the greatest artists,” honoring Yulin’s decades of influential work in theater and cinema.

Throughout his life, Yulin earned a reputation for playing intense, commanding characters that left lasting impressions on audiences.

He is survived by his wife, actress Kristen Lowman, and several loved ones who remember him as both a gifted performer and a generous mentor.
