With heavy hearts, we announce the passing

Dr. Kimberly Nix, a Canadian doctor who openly documented her battle with metastatic sarcoma on Instagram and TikTok, has died three years after being diagnosed. She was only 28 and in her final year of medical residency when she learned of her illness.

In her final video on May 8, Dr. Nix reflected on her journey while getting ready, sharing her love for her husband and gratitude toward her followers. She asked people to donate to the Sarcoma Alliance and spoke honestly about her acceptance of life and death.

“I had a beautiful life,” she said. “I’m so proud of it.” Despite her young age, she expressed peace, saying her only sorrow was “not being able to grow old” with her husband.

Through her social media, Dr. Nix inspired thousands with her courage, humor, and openness about terminal illness. She turned her platform into a space of hope, honesty, and education about sarcoma.

Her followers continue to honor her memory, remembering her message of gratitude, love, and strength even in her final days.
