Representative Andy Barr announced that his campaign manager for his 2026 U.S.

Kentucky Republican Rep. Andy Barr announced the death of longtime aide Tatum Dale, calling the loss deeply personal and destabilizing for both his office and campaign. Barr described Dale as “the heart and soul” of his team, noting her loyalty and influence across more than a decade of work together. Her death sent shockwaves through Kentucky’s Republican community at a critical moment, as she was serving as campaign manager for Barr’s 2026 U.S. Senate bid.

Dale joined Barr’s operation after graduating from the University of Kentucky in 2012 and remained by his side as his career grew. From early volunteer work to senior leadership, she became one of the most recognizable figures in Kentucky politics, respected for her work ethic and behind-the-scenes leadership.

Barr highlighted Dale’s impact on constituents, crediting her with helping resolve thousands of cases for veterans, seniors, and families, and with securing funding for community projects statewide. He said her service was rooted in faith and compassion, adding spiritual comfort as he reflected on her passing on Christmas Eve.

Tributes poured in from across Republican circles. Former state lawmaker Ralph Alvarado said he was “absolutely devastated,” calling Dale an amazing person and respected professional. Former Attorney General Daniel Cameron referred to her as a friend and said she would be “deeply missed.”

Others echoed the sentiment. GOP strategist Sean Southard said he was “completely shocked,” noting Dale’s constant presence at major party events. According to the Courier-Journal, she died on Christmas Eve, with no cause immediately released, leaving a lasting legacy of service across Kentucky.
