18-Year-Old College Student Tragically Dies While Taking Afternoon Walk

In a tragic incident, 19-year-old Jillian Ludwig, a Belmont University freshman and music enthusiast, was fatally shot while jogging at Edgehill Community Memorial Gardens Park. The shooter, 29-year-old Shaquille Taylor, faces initial charges of aggravated assault and evidence tampering. The police revealed Taylor’s alleged firing at a car across the street unintentionally hit Ludwig.

Described as an engaged community member and avid runner, Ludwig’s death raises concerns about public safety and the need for preventive measures. Belmont University President Greg Jones expressed condolences, emphasizing Ludwig’s role as a music business major.
