Iconic 70s actress sparks strong reactions after walking her dogs

Dyan Cannon lit up Hollywood with her charm, humor, and talent. Over decades, she earned three Oscar nominations, three Golden Globe nominations (winning one), a Saturn Award, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She starred in films like Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, Heaven Can Wait, and Deathtrap, blending comedy and drama with unforgettable presence.

In the 1960s, Cannon fell in love with Hollywood legend Cary Grant. “I loved him deeply and was committed to him,” she said. But their marriage came at a cost. Grant wanted her to quit acting and reshape her life entirely. Cannon recalled, “I would try and close the cupboards more gently… try and drive with both hands on the steering wheel.” The marriage lasted three years, ending amid allegations of emotional cruelty and abuse.

From the marriage came their daughter, Jennifer, Grant’s only child, a bond that kept them connected. Cannon later reflected, “There are some happy memories with Cary. I’m grateful for the experience. It’s brought me to be the woman I am today.” She refused offers to write a tell-all book and instead shared her story on her own terms, focusing on love, relationships, and self-discovery.

Even in her 80s, Cannon faced public scrutiny but remained active and vibrant. “Looks great for 86 and walking — what more could you ask for?” one observer praised, while others criticized her appearance.

Through it all, faith guided her. “Praying, that’s what keeps me straight,” she said. Today, at 88, she calls herself a “happy puppy now,” embodying resilience, self-respect, and joy beyond the silver screen.
