Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida Parton, recently worried fans with a Facebook post saying she had been “up all night praying” for the country legend. Many feared the 79-year-old singer might be seriously ill, especially after reports of her health struggles and postponed appearances.
Freida wrote that Dolly “hasn’t been feeling her best lately.” The emotional message quickly sparked online speculation, with fans expressing concern for the beloved star. The post came shortly after Dolly postponed her planned Las Vegas residency due to medical issues.
Dolly explained that she delayed the shows because doctors advised she undergo several procedures. She thanked fans for their support and emphasized that she was “following medical guidance.”
Recent months have also been personally difficult for Dolly, including the loss of her husband, Carl Dean, who passed away in March after nearly 60 years of marriage.
Seeing the public reaction, Freida issued a follow-up to ease worries. She said she did not intend to alarm anyone and that Dolly was simply “a little under the weather.” Freida added that she asked for prayers because she believes in their power, describing it as “nothing more than a younger sister requesting support for her big sister.”
