The question of what happens after death remains one of humanity’s greatest mysteries. Beliefs vary widely, shaped by culture, faith, and personal experience, and only a small number of people claim to remember anything from moments when they were clinically unresponsive.
One of them is Robert Marshall, who says his experience went beyond a near-death moment. After falling into a three-day coma in 2024, he rejected the idea that it was merely “near,” insisting that he had actually died. His account gained attention after he shared it on the Next Level Soul Podcast, describing the experience as profound and life-changing.
Marshall’s medical crisis began in May 2024, when he went to an outpatient emergency room with a large swelling on his neck and difficulty breathing. Doctors ran tests, including imaging and blood work, as his condition rapidly worsened.
According to Marshall, his heart stopped multiple times. He later revealed that he went into “code blue” three separate times while doctors worked to revive him. During this period, he says he was fully aware of extraordinary events beyond the physical world.
He later documented everything in his book 44 Hours in Heaven, detailing what he felt, saw, and learned while unconscious. His story continues to spark curiosity and debate among those fascinated by near-death experiences and the enduring mystery of what lies beyond life.
