Winter mornings suck for drivers. Frozen windshield, freezing fingers, clock ticking like crazy, and you’re out there scraping like an idiot.
But most modern cars have this super simple fix that tons of people don’t even know about: the windshield defrost button.
Start the engine, crank the heat to max, hit that button (usually looks like a windshield with wavy lines). Boom – it blasts hot air mixed with AC to clear the frost from the inside in seconds.
Way safer than dumping hot water (which can crack the glass), and a million times better than scraping (which scratches the windshield and takes forever).
A lot of us still do the old-school thing because we never bothered to learn what all the buttons do. This one is fast, actually works, and stops the windows from fogging up again while you’re driving.
For best results: turn on the AC too (it pulls moisture out), keep the glass clean, and never leave the car running alone – safety and cops don’t like that.
If your car is older and doesn’t have the button, use de-icer spray, cover it with a frost shield the night before, or mix water with some isopropyl alcohol and spray it on.
Use that little button and winter mornings stop being a nightmare. Quick defrost, stay warm inside, ditch the scraper – save time and your sanity.
