Berrisexuality is on the rise

Berrisexuality is an emerging micro-label for people who feel attraction to all genders but experience a stronger or more natural pull toward women, feminine-aligned, and androgynous individuals. Attraction to men or masculine-aligned people still exists, but it may feel lighter or less central rather than equal.

For many, this imbalance has been present for years. Broader labels like bisexual or pansexual can feel accurate on the surface while missing something deeper. They may seem “too wide or too even,” failing to reflect how attraction actually shows up in daily life.

Online spaces have played a key role in shaping the term. Reddit threads and queer wikis are often where people encounter berrisexuality for the first time. Many describe a sudden sense of recognition, as if a long-unspoken feeling finally had a name.

One user summed up that relief clearly: **“Now I don’t have to pick,”** they wrote. **“Berri fits like a glove.”** For them, the label didn’t limit identity—it explained it.

Community discussions also stress that micro-labels are optional. **“These words are meant to be tools, not boundaries,”** and no one is required to adopt them. Still, for those who have felt slightly out of sync with existing terms, berrisexuality can be deeply validating. It reflects attraction that is **“neither confusion nor contradiction,”** but nuance—language shaped to fit experience, rather than the other way around.
