Police officer stops to have cute conversation with adorable baby owl

Two Boulder County police deputies had an unusual encounter on a dirt road when they spotted a tiny creature in their path. To their surprise, it was a baby Northern Saw-Whet Owl, looking a bit lost. The deputies, concerned for its safety, approached the owl. One deputy started a conversation, saying, “Hey, what’s up?” The adorable owl responded with curious head twists, making the deputy laugh. After capturing the heartwarming interaction on video, the deputies guided the owl off the road, and it flew away to safety.

The Boulder County PD shared the video, describing the Northern Saw-Whet Owl as having a catlike face, oversized head, and bright yellow eyes, with sophisticated hearing for hunting.
