DR PHIL reveals the real reason why he quit his popular TV show after 21 years

After 21 years, Dr. Phil McGraw explained his decision to conclude his long-running TV show, citing achievement of his initial goals. Co-created with Oprah Winfrey in 2002, the show aimed to address crucial social issues, particularly mental health, and bring them to public attention. Speaking on “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?,” Dr. Phil emphasized addressing rising mental health challenges, especially among teenagers, linked to increased smartphone use and social media’s unrealistic portrayals of life. As a clinical psychologist, he provided “life strategies” to guests, turning the show into a significant platform for discussing psychological issues. Dr. Phil expressed fulfillment, having successfully tackled the topics he set out to highlight, including the “silent epidemics” of mental health.
