Charles Dierkop, renowned for his role as outlaw George ‘Flat Nose’ Curry in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, died at 87. His daughter Lynn revealed that he succumbed to a recent heart attack and pneumonia at Sherman Oaks Hospital in LA. Reflecting on landing the role in 2018, Dierkop shared, “My agent was on a plane reading a script… it says, Flat Nose Curry… I think I have someone in mind.” His notable works include The Sting and Police Woman with Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Dierkop, whose nose was apt for the outlaw character due to childhood breaks, reminisced about the casting process with director George Roy Hill. Married to Joan Addis from 1958 to 1974, they had two children, Charles Jr., who passed away in 1990, and Lynn.
