Born on June 29, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York, Lewis began his career in comedy clubs in the 1970s, quickly gaining recognition for his unique style and witty observations. He became a fixture in the stand-up comedy scene and gained further fame through appearances on television shows and in films.

Lewis’ trademark black attire, tousled hair, and frenetic stage presence endeared him to audiences, earning him a devoted fan base. He appeared on numerous talk shows, including “Late Night with David Letterman” and “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson,” solidifying his status as a comedic icon.
