His wife made the decision to leave him and their baby, and in response, he penned a heartfelt letter that touched the hearts of hundreds of thousands of people.

We have all heard tales of fathers who have completely cut off communication with their offspring and partners. However, stories of moms who leave their children are uncommon. Richard’s life underwent a drastic upheaval in January. He finally assumed the role of father. But Richard’s luck ran out, and everything in his life fell apart.Persephone, Richard’s daughter, was taken away by his wife when she only had a month old and moved to California. She must have experienced postpartum depression since during her worst moment, she threatened to place the daughter for adoption unless Richard arrived right away to remove her.

Richard quickly drove to California to take his daughter with him because he did not want to lose her.Although he would be pleased to see his daughter again, their future was uncertain. He never handled a child by himself.
His wife made the decision to leave him and their baby, and in response, he penned a heartfelt letter that touched the hearts of hundreds of thousands of people.

Richard found support from an unlikely place, a Facebook page called Life of Dad, when he needed it.
Richard received the support he required from the single fathers organization, and they greatly assisted him.
He addressed the group in an open letter, which swiftly went viral and spread like wildfire online.

Richard’s amazing message is as follows:
Persephone’s mother left us about a month after she was born; we still don’t know why, but we assume postpartum depression played a significant role. My name is Richard Johnson, and I am the sole dad of this gorgeous girl.

I ran into your group during the first few weeks when it was just my daughter and I. I was incredibly anxious and afraid to become a father, but as a single parent, I suddenly had two responsibilities to fulfill. And I was unsure of how to proceed. I studied every ‘New parent’ book I could find and viewed more than 1000 hours of parent education videos,

covering everything from hair braiding to nail art to ideas for coping with everyday issues. Then I started to follow your group and

realized there were other fathers experiencing the same issues. I gained confidence from the group and received support during this.

I look forward to seeing the photos and reading the biographies of the outstanding fathers in your neighborhood.

My daughter and I appreciate all of your assistance during these really trying times.
Now that we are both content, we are becoming closer every day.

Now that she is 10 months old, my friends are requesting parenting advice from me as a favor. My daughter and I have gone a long way,

and we owe the group and the members of it a great deal of what we have accomplished. In that case, thank you so much from both of us.

Regards, R. Johnson and Persephone. Being a single parent, whether a mother or a father, is difficult. And everyone who does it is completely deserving of appreciation!
