Vegan Sues Family Next Door For BBQing Meat, Neighbors Plan ‘Community’ Gathering In Response

Girrawheen resident Cilla Carden made headlines for taking her neighbors to court, demanding they cease barbecuing, smoking, and playing ball in their own backyard. Frustrated by the smell of cooking meat next door, Carden exclaimed, “They’ve put it there so I smell fish, all I can smell is fish. I can’t enjoy my backyard, I can’t go out there.” She also complained about cigarette smoke and children playing basketball, claiming it caused turmoil and sleepless nights. One neighbor, responding to the complaints, stopped the children from playing basketball and removed the barbecue. Despite Carden’s efforts at the State Administrative Tribunal and the Supreme Court, her case was dismissed. Undeterred, she vowed to continue the fight, expressing her determination to return to court soon.
