In Sacramento, California, when a wedding was canceled last minute, the Duane family transformed their disappointment into an act of kindness. Despite spending $35,000 on the wedding, they hosted a party at the Citizen Hotel for the homeless community, serving the intended wedding feast.
Quinn Duane’s mother, Kari Duane, explained, “When I found out… it just seemed like, of course, this would be something that we would do to give back.” The family invited Sacramento’s homeless to enjoy appetizers, salmon, tri-tip steak, and dessert. Erika Craycraft, a recipient of this unexpected generosity, expressed gratitude, saying, “To give up something so precious and offer it to someone else is incredibly generous, truly nice.”
Turning their personal setback into a heartwarming gesture, the Duanes not only made the most out of a challenging situation but also brought joy to others in need.
