Hole In Lake Sparks Curiosity, So Man Flies Drone Inside & Captures Magnificent Footage

California, notorious for its prolonged water struggles, is celebrating the end of a nearly decade-long drought. Record-breaking January and February rainfall have replenished lakes and reservoirs across Northern California and Sierra Nevada. A remarkable outcome of this rejuvenation is the reactivation of Lake Berryessa’s ‘Glory Hole,’ a 72-foot-wide spectacle near the dam. This unique funnel-shaped hole, 18 stories deep, prevents overflow by channeling excess water into Putah Creek. Dry conditions had rendered the glory hole inactive for over a decade, but recent rains restored its breathtaking functionality. Lake Berryessa, the 7th-largest man-made lake in Napa, California, had suffered during the drought but is now witnessing a remarkable turnaround. YouTuber Evan K’s drone footage captures the glory hole’s mesmerizing operation, showcasing the awe-inspiring power of nature.
