Layla’s husband, Tom, had a yearly tradition of going on a family vacation without her. For twelve years, Tom blamed his mother, saying, “My mom doesn’t want in-laws on the trip, Layla.” Each year, Tom dismissed Layla’s requests to join, claiming the kids were too young for such trips.
