UK’s ‘youngest ever mum gives birth aged 13 with family unaware of pregnancy’

An 11-year-old girl is now the youngest mother in UK history, giving birth earlier this month without her family knowing she was pregnant, reports *The Sun*. Both mother and baby are healthy.

Social services are investigating how the pregnancy went unnoticed. “It has come as a big shock. She’s now being surrounded by expert help. The main thing is that she and the baby are OK,” a source said.

The previous record was held by Tressa Middleton, who gave birth at 12 in 2006. In 2014, the UK’s youngest parents were a 12-year-old mother and 13-year-old father.
